Description

The hulled edible hemp seed from hanf & natur has been awarded the silver prize 2007 and the golden prize 2009 of the German Agricultural Society e.V. (DLG).

The hemp seeds are carefully peeled by machine so that the high-quality hemp oil with its unsaturated fatty acids and the important protein with all essential amino acids is preserved.
Hulled edible hemp not only refines muesli, bread, pastries and other dishes, but is also used as a decoration on salad, vegetables or desserts. Light roasting creates a tasty nutty aroma that adds an extra touch to many dishes.

To preserve the flavor and nutritional value of the edible hemp seed, please do not heat it above 180 degrees Celsius!

Hemp – a magic word on everyone’s lips

We live in a time of constantly increasing demands and inform ourselves about high quality and naturalness of what we feed our bodies. For example, hemp, which for a long time only haunted the minds of society as a drug, is celebrating a comeback as an edible plant. This environmentally friendly and nutritionally valuable plant looks back on a long tradition.

A brief cultural history

The plant was cultivated in China as early as 3,000 B.C. and in India from about 900 B.C. onward. The Scythians extracted oil from hemp seeds and the Thracians wove clothes from its fibers, as Herodotus reports. The Greeks got to know hemp “only” in 500 BC and passed it on to the Romans under the name CANABIS. The Germanic tribes, Gauls and Carolingians also knew and used hemp. From numerous mentions in Hildegard von Bingen we know that the plant was widespread in the Middle Ages and highly valued for its positive effects.

Intelligent plant…

The hemp plant provides raw materials for industry and crafts, for food and pharmaceuticals. Among its many uses are products with high added value, whose cultivation can be quite profitable even without maximum yields. This welcome exception in today’s agriculture is joined by another extremely positive fact: hemp crops require practically no pesticides, thus helping the environment and also saving material and labor costs.

… with rich fruits

It is mainly the hemp seeds (botanically correct: nuts) that interest us. These lonely little nuts are full of ingredients whose value for humans and animals can hardly be surpassed.
