Physalis, also known as Cape Gooseberry, grows in the Peruvian highlands. As the generic name, Physalis Peruviana, already illustrates, it is a plant native to Peru, where it thrives particularly well. The fruit is encased in a green calyx until it ripens, which dries up as the fruit ripens, enclosing it like a thin paper skin. Physalis berries are popular for desserts because of their delicious flavor, but also because of their high nutritional content. Peruvian Harvest Physalis berries are dried slowly and gently and according to the criteria for raw food and the EU organic regulation. Simply 100% best fruit.
